FILM REVIEW: OCEAN’S THIRTEEN – “WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF GETTING EVEN? 13 TO ONE”

General plot: Danny Ocean rounds up the boys for a third heist, after casino owner Willy Bank double-crosses one of the original eleven, Reuben Tishkoff.

Main Cast Members: Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon and Al Pacino.

Most people are at this stage totally familiar with the general outline of the Ocean’s movies.  Group of happy go lucky thieves team up to foil the eminently more evil uber thief/charlatan.  This is the third movie following on in this trilogy.  The first stormed the box office for its charms, the second was a poor relation.   But the third…….

Well, this film brings the team back to the home of their first and greatest  triumph, Las Vegas.  And, it also reclaims some of the gloss that we saw in the first film.  This movie skips along nicely and it is difficult not the become engaged in the charms of one or more of the characters.

The pace is pretty much relentless and I didn’t even feel the 2 hours pass, which is always a good sign.  Not a deep thinkers film, but fun none the less.  Keep a special eye out for a stunning role filled by Elen Barkin!
